FIRST: Choose a tool. Only one mode works at a time. When DRAW is selected, dragging on the page only draws—it does not move, fill, select, or erase artwork. To do another job, click that tool (or use its keyboard shortcut).
These are real buttons. The guide closes so you can work. Open GUIDE again any time.
Select an artwork piece first (press V, then click it). These change the selected piece, not everything on the page.
Click MIRROR DRAW in the toolbox to turn it on. The guide closes and a blue vertical dashed line appears at the center of the artboard. Draw on either side with DRAW selected; the other side appears automatically, like a mirror. Drawing works at any zoom level. Open GUIDE and click MIRROR DRAW again to switch it off. The blue guide is not included in saved SVG or PNG files. Each mirrored pair remains together so you can move or edit it. The MERGE tool still works as before.
Click DRAW, then drag with your mouse or trackpad. Release to finish a stroke. Choose Brush size with the slider or type a number; it also changes previously drawn brushstrokes. Smoothness makes lines more fluid (100 is strongest). The top color squares adjust the background, main line, and outline colors. The number boxes next to the outline sliders accept decimals like 1.2 or 22.4.
Click SELECT (or press V) before clicking artwork. Drag the selection to move it. Hold Shift while clicking to choose multiple pieces. ⌘ A on Mac or Ctrl A on Windows selects everything on the artboard.
Click FILL, choose the small color square beside FILL, and click inside one enclosed area. Click another area to color it differently. For example, one section can be red and another blue. Changing the color square does not recolor old fills. Click on empty interior space, not directly on the outline.
To erase part of a drawing: click ERASE, then click the drawing you want to erase ONE time. A selection box appears. Only after it is selected, click and drag over the parts you want gone. The circle at your cursor shows the eraser size. The slider now supports very small detail erasing as well as medium and large sizes. Erasing uses smoothing (default 65%) to make trackpad movement easier. Click a different drawing once to select that one before erasing it.
While DRAW is active, click MERGE to keep adding lines to the same drawing. When SELECT is active, choose overlapping shapes (Shift-click multiple), then click MERGE or press I to fuse their geometry into a single vector shape.
UNDO reverses the previous edit. CLEAR ALL FILLS removes bucket-colored regions without removing the lines. CLEAR DRAWINGS · KEEP FILLS removes hand-drawn lines but keeps imported artwork and already added color regions. CLEAR EVERYTHING removes all pieces from the artboard. Be careful: clearing is undoable, but saving a copy is safest.
This is useful when your artwork depends on clean, consistent outlines. You can sketch flowing lines, automatically apply the same outline colors and widths, extend a drawing, mirror it, merge overlapping silhouettes, and export scalable SVG artwork. That can speed up early logo concepts, decorative lettering, illustration, symmetrical face studies, and organic patterns. Centering helps with composition.
Its limits: this is a focused drawing tool, not a replacement for Illustrator or professional vector editing. Merge traces geometry and can subtly change contours. For detailed anchor-point editing, complex typography, color management, or print prepress, finish the SVG in a dedicated design program.
D Draw · V Select · I Merge · ⌘/Ctrl A Select all · ⌘/Ctrl Z Undo · ⌘/Ctrl X Redo · ⌘/Ctrl C Copy · ⌘/Ctrl V Paste · ⌘/Ctrl M Mirror · ⌘/Ctrl B Backward · ⌘/Ctrl F Forward · Delete Delete selection.
SVG saves editable vector art; PNG saves a high-resolution picture. Both automatically crop to your artwork with a small border. Drag an SVG file onto the page to import it. To zoom using a trackpad, hold Cmd/Ctrl while scrolling.
